Accessible Learning Sources: A Need Analysis on Maritime English Learning Apps

Maritime English is defined as the language used by seafarers both at sea and in port individuals working shipping shipbuilding industry. The teachers are required to make students skillful ready work maritime sectors once they graduate. existing relevant learning materials following STCW 2010 curriculum Indonesia still rare limited. This study aims conduct a need analysis of android web-based apps based on students' perspectives. uses questionnaires shared completed randomly 318 from different majors Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Pelayaran (Maritime Higher Education Institute) Jakarta. data gathered analyzed accordingly create essential concept MarEng design. questionnaire result indicates that most participants an ME platform order for them have better access practice knowledge skills. Explicit bilingual instructions features like video, audio, text also preferred be incorporated. It suggested start elementary level cover four skills, especially listening, speaking, pronunciation. so can constructed easy fun UI/UX covering content.
